Barking Through Mirrors

A dog barks through the jungle,
He sees something alike.
A toy squeaks as it mingles,

Dancing in playful hike.

The dog barks once again,
He sees something similar,
A bright-furred fleeting stain,
Proudly licking further.

The dog barks restlessly,
He sights a dim dull mirror,
Echoing paleness truthfully.
Why does it sound familiar?

Description:
This poem is a symbolic approach of conveying readers about envy and self-perception. The dog resembles an individual who sees others, achieve rewards and fulfill their desires (The toy) however, when the dog sees itself in the mirror, he sees a pale version of himself.
